Standard classes are held five days a week at Seishinkan. Brief descriptions of the classes and their fees are given below followed by a weekly schedule. Don't be misled by what appears to be multiple classes on the same mat, particularly, children and adults. Seishinkan Dojo has two mat areas! A large mat area 'downstairs' and a smaller area 'upstairs'. Children's classes are generally held upstairs while the adult classes are on the larger (and 'taller') area downstairs. See our picture section for views of the downstairs mat area. For more information on the various arts go to the Senshinkan Dojo page. Special events, such as visiting instructor seminars or Zen 'sits' (extended meditation sessions) are held throughout the year. See the Calendar for upcoming events.
Seishinkan is a private club, with membership open to all races, all religions and both sexes. However, martial arts training is an athletic undertaking. Membership is limited to those who are physically able to participate safely. Some of the arts taught at Seishinkan, such as Yoga, may be tailored for less strenuous needs. Persons with medical limitations should consult their physician before participating.
No contracts are required for on-going classes. Payment for classes is made monthly (by the 15th please, to avoid late fees). Dues are prorated for the first month. A $25.00 US fee is required to join.
Students are encouraged to attend as many classes per week as they wish.. A beginning student attending an advanced class may be requested to observe techniques they cannot safely perform.
If you are in our area temporarily and wish to practice with us, please do! A $10.00 'mat fee' is requested.

The goal of Yoga is to promote health. Both Hatha and Kundalini Yoga are taught at the dojo. Hatha Yoga uses slow, deliberate stretches to concentrate the mind and tone the body. Kundalini Yoga uses rhythmic motion with eyes closed to activate the body's internal energy. Both styles of Yoga develop posture, breathing, flexibility and awareness as well as improving both energy and endurance for everyday life. Yoga is also an excellent complement to other forms of meditation and martial arts. Students may join at any time. Cost: $45.00/month as a standalone class. Included at no extra charge for Aikido students (and encouraged!) |
